I have never really been one to love cream eyeshadow sticks - yes, I've tried and experimented with them from time to time because they are quicker and easier to apply, but I always end up reverting back to the precision powder. However when I saw NYX's new Lid Lingerie range I decided I had to pick one up and see for myself if NYX's eye tints may change my mind.
Following their cult famous range of 'lip lingeries', NYX's lid lingeries are all nude-toned shades so there's something to suit everyone. They range from more bronze or gold tones, and the shade I picked up, a soft baby pink called Rose Pearl.
I tend to grab my lid lingerie on a day when I need to do makeup quite quick, because it is really easy to apply. The tint's applicator makes it really easy to swipe across the lid and then I blend it in with my finger. I love how easy to blend it is and how smooth it is.
It creates a really pretty shimmer and the product is really easy to build up, whether you want it to be more or less pigmented across the lid. I am also really impressed with how long it lasts, I am often afraid cream shadows aren't as long-lasting as powders but this one certainly is.
Because the shade Rose Pearl is a gorgeous pink tone, I love pairing it with eyeshadows from Maybelline's Blushed Nudes palette. I've had this for a really long time and surprisingly I am still reaching for it a lot because the shades are so pigmented. I have a feeling this is because I've used them so much I've really worked into the shades, since I've read MAC shadows get more pigmented when you use them a lot.
The palette has a few shades that compliment the Lid Lingerie really well, but I tend to use the matte pink shade in the crease as a transition shade and I may also add a bit on the lower lashline. Then I like to take the darker, shimmery pink in the outer corner. I'll then get a light shadow to highlight the inner corner and brow bone and I'm done with shadow!
Keeping in with the drugstore theme I have through the eye look, lately I have been loving Maybelline's 'The Falsies Push Up Angel' mascara. It's very rare I get excited about a mascara but this one lifts my lashes so much and the wand is really thin and unique. It gives the lashes a fluttery, angel look which is super girly, fitting with pink eyeshadow.
Have you tried NYX's Lid Lingeries? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
