Hair trend F/W 2010 2011

Earlier in my blog, I gave you all you need to know about Men' hair trends, Today I'll give you about women hair trend.

Our first hair trend for the coming winter is the Beehive Beauties. this trend brings back the Brigitte Bardot look, even the hair color. Blond can be one of the very "it" hair color for women but also for men except that for men it is the Snow White blond color.
This trend was seen on many catwalks specially chez Chanel but also Prada.

The Second trend is much more easy looking and much simpler. It is about mixing the texture of your hair. So you need to have dry hair and apply on the roots some Gel or the hair cream you use to make it look wet. and the rest will stay dry. The Dual Texture was seen at Rick Owen, Versus, Marni and David Koma will be a big emerging trend for A/W 2010. "The fusion of wet vs dry creates a balance between something striking and chic, and something more natural and effortless.

Third Trend is another big trend and it's more or less similar to what we saw in men as well and it is the Deep Side Parting. "Deep side parts are a strong look that nod towards masculinity but with a sexy attitude as well. It makes a strong statement without having to over-do your hair." To create a more androgynous look gel hair back to the side as seen at Etro and Stella McCartney, or for a more feminine take on the trend, leave it loose and natural like the models at Bottega Veneta.

Fourth trend, the super sleek Ponytails. This look swung down the catwalks at Louis Vuitton, YSL, CK and Miu Miu. A step away from the curled and tousled spring/summer styles, polished ponies not only added an air of glamour; they allowed the focus to fall on the clothes too. Although simple, this look can be made very sexy with striking results depending on whether the pony is placed at a playful height, low or stylishly to the side. This look can be merged with the one before like what we can see in Stella McCartney photo and in the CK picture as well.

This winter, the natural approach is on the up, our Fifth trend is the "Negligé". effortless hair was spotted at Versace, Gucci, Chloe, D&G and Roberto Cavalli. The Unfussy femininity is the trend this winter.

The sixth hair trend is the Grungy hair. Yeah Taylor Momsen and the Material Girl had their effect on fashion. "This time round, the look is more of a nod to grunge in the sense that the elements of simplicity are still a major factor, but this time the hair is clean," says hair hero Neil Moodie, who fashioned the look at Burberry. "The old grunge era was all about dirty, greasy, messy hair, this time we used clean hair, kept the center parting but left hair flat and simple or blow-dried it loosely." Marc Jacobs, Felder Felder, Proenza Schouler and Roberto Cavalli all adopted this look.

Seventh trend, Voluuume. Like what we saw in Dior' show, the horizontal hair is one of the coming trends. Volume at the root was combined with outwards width to give reams of texture at Chanel, Dior, Junya Watanabe, Giles and Mulberry.

Last hair trend, the Retro look. At Antonio Marras hair had a distinct '20s feel, while at Tommy Hilfiger hair pins and neatly manicured waves screamed 1940s glamour. "This season it's all about a neo-classical version of styles from the past," says Peter Lux, head&shoulders creative beauty director. Giambattista Valli went for 60s-style updos, Oscar de le Renta channelled 1970s Hollywood while at La Coste, models with side ponytails looked as though they'd just stepped out of the eighties.

And as for hair colors, this winter trend is about strong rich velvety shades in burgundy, copper and blond and a shot of midnight black for followers of the Gothic grunge trend as seen at Proenza Schouler and Lanvin. "Brunettes will be working with leather browns, hazelnut hues, matte conker and midnight black, as well as gloss and matte finishes to give a greater depth to their color," explains Christel Lundqvist, HOB Salons color director. "For blonds, it will be an infusion of different tones such as cotton white, oyster, pearl, chinchilla, tea rose, pewter and sand."

The biggest color trend is the cotton white, it was seen in all the catwalks no exception (almost) and it is also preferable  to dye your eye brows just like Marion Cotillard did for the cover of awaited Vogue September issue.

Don't forget your head accessories this winter because like every winter they are back.

Love.
